Marquetry Workshops
Throughout the year, I conduct an entry-level marquetry workshop
from my studio in Yorba Linda, CA. This class introduces the woodworker
to the double bevel method of composing marquetry. You will learn how
to set up the scroll saw with the correct bevel angle so each cut is tight
and accurate. Each participant will have full access to all the tools
necessary for marquetry and will also complete a tutorial sample to
take home for "show and tell".
Even though the class is called an entry-level marquetry workshop, returning students can work at their own pace, being confident that supervision and training are immediately available. These returning students can work on other projects that are easy or more challenging to improve their skills.
An all-day advanced class is also available. It includes all the features of the entry-level class, plus design and pattern development.
The workshops are given on a Saturday, 9am to 1pm. Everything is provided except good glasses (bring yours if you need them for reading). The class size is small and is very hands-on. Available to purchase are Marquetry Kits (woods, pattern, carbon paper), Tool Kits and Veneers for composing your own designs.

Workshop Details
- Entry-level class tuition is $65.
- Advanced class tuition is $120.
- Class is 4 hours and is completed on one Saturday.
- You'll receive instruction on:
- Saw calibration
- Saw blade choice
- Saw speed and feed rate
- Cutting perfect joints
- Hot sand shading for realistic depth
- Includes a Beginner's Marquetry Kit
- Scroll saws will be provided, or you may bring your own
If you'd like to bring your child, I also teach Parent/Child Workshops.

Marquetry Kits
I have 16 marquetry kits available for those who are able to do double bevel marquetry. (These kits will be of little use to you if you do not know the method to put them together.) Each kit has the wood veneers, pattern, transfer paper, and photo of completed piece.
Small kits are $25 each
Medium kits are $30 each
Large kits are $45 each
Tool Kits
This kit comprises all the unique tools for doing marquetry at $50 each.
Veneers
I cut my own veneers for marquetry from solid wood. If you are
interested in purchasing .070" thick veneer for your marquetry project,
let me know. Prices vary.
